Class MW - Autumn term 2011
Welcome back to school and I look forward to a fun and exciting time with Years 1 and 2 this year and this letter is to outline what will be going on this term.
I will be working closely with Mrs Garner in the mornings as she will support the teaching and learning going on in class.
During this term the children will have Literacy and Numeracy hours on a daily basis. The children will also receive work to do at home including Maths work, learning their key words and spellings. They will also have a reading book and reading record. It is important that your child reads regularly at home and your support is very important in helping their development. The reading record will also act as part of the communication process between ourselves but also please do not hesitate to speak to me if you have any issues or concerns... or even to tell me what the children have been up to and achieved out of school.
Topics we will be covering this term:
- Science : Changing and Sorting Materials
- Geography: Landmarks and London
- Topic : Fire: including The Great Fire of London and Bonfire Night.
- PE: Children will need a white T Shirt, Black shorts and plimsoles.
PE will be on a Wednesday and Friday but they will still need their kit on other days as I may take the children outside or in the hall at short notice.
The children can bring a named water bottle and they will receive a healthy snack too in the morning.
